Welcome to the Friday Face-Off, a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy. Join us every Friday as we pit cover against cover, and publisher against publisher, to find the best artwork in the literary universe. If you want to join us next week, check out next week’s predetermined theme, choose a book, compare two or more different covers available for that book, then name your favorite. A list of future weeks’ themes are available at Lynn’s Book Blog
This week’s theme is:
“‘Knock, knock… ‘who’s there?’ – A cover featuring a door ajar or closed!”
There was only one book which I felt perfectly represented this theme!
AND THE WINNER IS . . .
So, do you agree with my pick? Disagree? Love them all? Hate them all? Let us know!
This was the first book I thought of, great choice! I actually love the artwork on the last book the best, but the font and overall design isn’t that great.

Good, lateral thinking with the choice of book! 🙂
My vote, however, goes to the last image: the overall darkness and the hint of light beyond it look quite fascinating…

I like the last one best! The one you picked is really cool and is a good idea but I don’t like how half the lions face is erased, it looks weird to me

I like the last one with the cool blue tones, but a shame that the big blocky lettering takes away from it a little.

Ooo Wendell, I never even thought of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe for this topic, but it is perfect! But, for once, when I saw the topic in Lynn’s post, I did think of a cover straight away: Stephen King’s The Drawing of the Three. 😀
