WAITING ON WEDNESDAY — A BLADE OF BLACK STEEL

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine to let readers share their excitement for books coming out soon, and the novel I’m eagerly awaiting might surprise you, because I did not exactly love the first installment: A Crown for Cold Silver.  But I did enjoy the author’s writing style enough to give this series one more try before I call it quits.

  1. The Crown for Cold Silver, while I didn’t read it, probably has one of most memorable first sentences ever.

The beginning of the book was great to me. It just got further and further away from that as it progressed. Hopefully, the author will focus on the elements that everyone loved about the story, i.e. badass characters in a grimdark world.

  4. Although I liked what I read of A Crown for Cold Silver, it was just the wrong book at the wrong time. I really need to get back to it and give it a read.

  6. I could not get into the first one, so I’m going to have to sit out for the sequel. I know you had mixed feelings about A Crown for Cold Silver as well though, and hopefully this one will get back to the elements you liked and that you’ll enjoy it!
