Most of you will have noticed little activity in the last few days. The reason is simply that I have been busy on hurricane activities i.e attempting to get ready for everything to be blown to hell and back at my home. And now I am attempting to sit out the storm then clean up and get electricity back on.
Wish me the best. Say a little pray for me and my family. And enjoy the old posts while I’m gone.
Best of,
Wendell
Hope things get better soon. Praying for you and yours.

Thanks. It actually wasn’t as bad as we anticipated. Other areas got hit much worse though, and I can honestly say I’ve never seen or heard wind like that in my life. You ever ride out a hurricane during your time in Florida?

We were there from 2005 to 2010 and in Orlando. I think Tropical Storm Fay in 2008 was the worst. Really surprised we didn’t have to deal with more. I can imagine how bad it sounded. The wind is always the scariest part because you wonder what it will throw and the building shakes. Know this from Sandy and an ice storm back in 2003, which probably doesn’t compare to what Florida gets. Did you guys lose power?

We lost it for nearly two days. Thought my children were going to lose their minds without xbox, wifi, and tv. Some people near me are still waiting for their power to come back on though, so we were actually lucky to get it back as soon as we did..

Geez. I can only imagine how hard it is to lose tech on modern day kids. Good thing it lasted for two days and not more. Hope your neighbors get it back soon. Seems luck is a big factor with these storms.

Thanks. It was rough, but not as bad as we anticipated. Loads of trees down, houses damaged (but not totally destroyed), fuel shortages, and power/internet losses. Sadly, it was much worse in Jacksonville and other areas.
